Tech Women’s Track Team has High Hopes for Nationals

The Texas Tech women's track team will be represented by seven team members in this week's NCAA outdoor track and field championships in Des Moines, Iowa. Tech, ranked fifth in the nation is lead by Sally Kipyego, who already owns six career individual national championships.

"We have,'' said D'Andra Carter, who ranks first in the nation in the discus. "I think it's a really good chance. I think the girls here, they know how to work hard and we're very determined to do the best that we can. I think at the meet, everybody will put their best foot forward and we'll do very well and have a chance to win.''
