New TTU Campus Pictures - Bevo, It's What's for Dinner Edition

The latest group of pictures from the Texas Tech campus has been posted at Raider Power. This group includes shots of the leisure pool construction, the demolition of Thompson/Gaston Hall, the Marsha Sharp Freeway, the Livemore Auditorium renovation, the Overton Hotel and Conference Center, and the students camping out in "Raiderville" in anticipation of Saturday's Texas - Texas Tech game.

The leisure pool construction is moving along even though you can't tell from a distance. If you get a look from above you can see where the various pool's and lazy river will be located. A lot of concrete has been poured. Stuctures are now starting to appear on site.

The Gaston/Thompson Hall demolition is moving along quickly. They have razed about half of Gaston Hall at this point. The demolition is to make room for the new Jerry S. Rawls School of Business.

The Marsha Sharp Freeway is really moving along. The ramp that takes traffic from the east bound 4th Street access road onto the west bound freeway opened this week making way for construction of the highway beneath the 4th Street/Marsha Sharp interchange. The pictures in this group include shots of the new 9th Street bridge and the pedestrian bridge near Gaston Hall.

Most of the stonework has been completed on the Livermore Auditorium in Engineering.

They have topped off the new Overton Hotel and Conference Center at 15 stories. Brickwork is now taking place on Lubbock's newest hotel.

Last, but not least, Raiderville's population outside of Jones AT&T stadium is growing by the minute in anticipation of this Saturday's Big 12 game between the top-ranked Texas Longhorns and sixth-rated Texas Tech Red Raiders.
