Nothing Like West Texas Weather

Nothing quite like the weather in west Texas. On Thursday, the temperature was in the 80's. On Friday, low 30's with 30 mph winds and snow.

Overton Hotel Lights up Lubbock Skyline

Even though the new Overton Hotel and Conference Center in North Overton will not open to guests until later this summer, the new addition to Lubbock's skyline is now lighting up the night.

The lights on the east side of the structure are now in working order on the 15 story complex. These pictures of the new hotel were taken last Thursday evening.

New TTU Campus Pictures – 3/3/2009

This group features shots of the Marsha Sharp Freeway, the Jones AT&T Stadium expansion, the Fuller Track and Field renovation, and various other shots. You can see the entire thread over at Raider Power.

The railings are now in place on the pedestrian bridges near the Animal & Food Science Building and near the old Thompson/Gaston Hall area. All the pedestrian bridges near the campus are open.

A single wall is all that remains standing at the Thompson/Gaston Hall demolition site. The site is the future home of the new Jerry Rawls College of Business.

Work is continuing at the Fuller Track and Field complex renovation. They were pouring concrete around the exterior of the track today. The facility will host this spring's Big 12 outdoor track and field championships.

Most of the work on the east side expansion project at Jones AT&T Stadium is still not real noticeable. Most of the work is below ground level. The construction crews were working in the trenches installing some type of piping.
