New TTU Campus Pictures - 9/30/2009 Edition

Since there is not a lot of visible change at the stadium from day to day like there has been the last month or so, I took the opportunity to get some other shots from around campus during lunch today.

This group includes various shots of campus, including, shots of the new Hope Lodge next to the Ronald McDonald House, the new women's softball buidling at Rocky Johnson Field, the new women's soccer building at John Walker Field, the new landscaping improvements around Horn/Knapp Hall, the Peggy and Bill Dean Grand Reception Hall at the Merket Alumni Pavillion, plus others.

New Residence Hall Planned for Tech Campus

The university announced on Thursday that enrollment has surpassed the 30,000 student mark for the first time in school history.

The increase is about 1,600 more student than from fall of last year and Tech officials have a goal 40,000 by 2010.

The Daily Toreador reports that a new residence hall is in the works and will open in 2012. Weeks Hall, which has been empty for 20 years, will be the site for the new residence hall.

The article also reports that a proposal has also been made for a new parking garage near Doak and Drane Halls.
