New Stadium Expansion Pictures - 7/31/2009

There is not a lot to report from the stadium today as two nights of heavy rain in the Lubbock area on Tuesday and Wednesday evening have slowed the construction process.

All the activity taking place yesterday was pumping water off the construction site.

About the only other thing going on was crews working on the re-bar forms.

New TTU Campus Pictures - 7/31/2009

This small group of shots was taken during the lunch hour yesterday.

Most of the pictures are of the Memorial Circle area.

The construction of the replacement maintenance tunnel has been completed and the construction fence has been removed.The area had been closed off since early January and the regular traffic routes around Memorial Circle had been altered since then. The Circle is still blocked to traffic and crews are now working on laying new sod over the area where the tunnel was constructed.

They have also planted a number of large trees in the grass areas outside of Memorial Circle.

You can now take pictures of Will Rogers and Soapsuds without getting a construction fence as your background.

New TTU Campus Pictures - 7/28/2009 Edition

This group of pictures from the Texas Tech campus includes shots of some new construction near the Chitwood/Weymouth/Coleman residence halls, the new location of the new Jerry Rawls College of Business, and the new Peggy and Bill Dean Grand Reception Addition at the Merket Alumni Center.

It appears a new fence is going up near the Chitwood/Weymouth/Coleman residence halls along Flint Avenue.

Site prep work is on-going at the location of the new Jerry Rawls College of business. A new maintenance tunnel and parking lots are currently being constructed.

The west wall of the Merket Alumni Center now has a gaping hole in it as preperations are being made for the new Peggy and Bill Dean Grand Reception Hall.

Here is the newest group of pictures from the stadium expansion.

The pre-cast concrete for the north stands should start arriving on site sometime this week. The steel for the east side expansion should start going up around August 3rd.
